[@Programm Commitee:] Der Vortragende hat bereits 2005 einen Vortrag über GnuCash für "normale Benutzer" gehalten; Folien siehe  http://www.cstimming.de/gnc/linuxtag05/gnc-lxtag05-slides.pdf , und ebenfalls 2004 http://www.cstimming.de/gnc/linuxtag04/gnc-lxtag.pdf . Für diesen Beitrag wird einerseits erneut der Nutzen einer Finanzverwaltung für Privatanwender erklärt. Im Gegensatz zu den früheren Vorträgen wird dann diesmal von der mühseligen Portierungs-Arbeit auf MS Windows berichtet und die Überwindung diverser Schwierigkeiten erläutert (auch als Hinweis, was andere Projekte bei einer Portierung beachten sollten). Die Hoffnung für GnuCash und weitere Open-Source-Projekte ist hierbei, dass die Verfügbarkeit auf Windows zu einer noch größeren Verbreitung und Akzeptanz des Open-Source-Ansatzes führen. Die Frage des Vertrauens in Software stellt sich bei einer Finanzverwaltung natürlich besonders, und insofern ist dies durch Freie Software in besonderem Maße erreichbar.
