Release Schedule for 2.5.x releases

This is a draft release schedule for unstable 2.5.x releases of gnucash, which will eventually lead to the stable 2.6.0 release of gnucash with new features.

Goal

Goals for 2.6.0:

• Improved small business functions with many small new features for everyday use: New interactive customer / vendor overview; support for credit notes; several new reports; export to PDF
• New reports available in stable versions

Purpose of all 2.5.x releases: Any 2.5.x is not yet stable, but is meant to provide easier access to the current source code for wider testing. Also, at some point in time the 2.5.x series should go into a string freeze so that translators can fully concentrate on their translation work.

Feature Checklist for 2.6.0

In order to reach the stable release 2.6.0, we need to list the features which are new in trunk and decide whether they are stable enough for 2.6.0. If they are not, they will be disabled for 2.6.0. Please link to bugzilla items where applicable.

Release Schedule for 2.4.x releases

We don't have an actual schedule. We only know we plan for a stable 2.4.x release every 12-16 weeks in order to make available the bugfixes and translation updates.
