Talk:List of external software interfaces

From GnuCash
Jump to: navigation, search

Also: Can you please state the purpose of this page a bit more clearly? Should this be a status report of the currently existing interfaces? Or do you want to collect all interfaces that someone could imagine? In the latter case, I'd strongly suggest that you make it really totally obvious whether these 1. are currently existing and working, 2. used to exist and might be reactivated with moderate effort, or 3. are totally new features which would require really a lot of work. If you add descriptions like these as far as you know then, I'd gladly fill in the rest. --Cstim 04:33, 23 February 2006 (EST)

To answer your question: I don't really know what would be the most useful form for this page to take. I agree with the categorization you suggested at the top of this article. My motivation is to figure out how I can "plug in" to GnuCash.. something I've wanted to do for years (I gather I'm not alone). Perhaps it would be best to move the prospective interfaces to Bugzilla as you suggested; I'll have to take a look at what's there, and maybe I can link to them and summarize them here. I wonder if I should survey the mailing lists for ideas as well. —Fleminra 05:23, 23 February 2006 (EST)
Ok, no problem. (I didn't use the Talk page first because here in this wiki, somehow the Talk pages didn't tend to get used so far...) Your mission statement for this page is quite fine: "to figure out how I can plug in to gnucash". I'll add what I know. As for bugzilla: Issue doesn't have to be moved there exclusively, but iff there are "single issues" which are on the road to be fixed, then they are better suited for bugzilla and you would only reference the relevant bug number here. --Cstim 07:43, 23 February 2006 (EST)
